I love God’s Word (written and incarnate), Reading, Teaching, Theology, History, My Scots-Irish heritage, Movies, Comics, Comics made into Movies, College Football (Auburn Football in particular), Coffee, and Coram Deo Baptist Church.

I was raised in the church and was saved and baptized at a young age. Church was very important in my childhood, and I can't remember a time where I wasn't serving or doing life through a church, whether setting up or tearing down chairs and gear when our church met in a school gym, or completing the AWANA program (while also volunteering), or studying the collected works of Francis Schaefer before leaving for college. After school, I settled in Blount County, where I met my wife Janessa. Currently, we live and work in downtown Maryville and have two young children, Leopold and Evangeline.
An avid reader and thinker, I love seeing God work in people's lives. As an Elder in the Church, I do all I can to encourage positive, healthy relationships in others, whether with God, fellow Christians, or generally between people. My interests include religious and political philosophy, history, science fiction, board games, and serving Coram Deo however and whenever I can.

I came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ as a child through the nurture and admonition of my single mother. That faith was fostered in Ash’s youth group and continued to grow during my college years serving with Reformed University Fellowship.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Bethany, and we have three children, William, Henry, and Maggie. In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching movies, playing golf and basketball, listening to music and podcasts, eating my wife’s delicious cooking, and playing with my kiddos.
I love Maryville, and I am so thankful for the opportunities God has given me to serve in several capacities professionally and personally within my community. Being an Elder and serving my church has been a joy, and I strive to honor God in everything I do.
